Hi! I’m Lucy, creative Director & Owner of Mad Sewist. I found a passion for sewing at a very young age with the common story of wanting to create tiny worlds for my dolls and lego people. My mom and Grand-mère (despite what the photo above might suggest) were always encouraging me to create just as they had. This hobby transitioned to apparel when I was in high school. As an athlete that grew up playing soccer, swimming and snowboarding, I had a very muscular lower body. The fashion world didn't make jeans for athletic women, so I made my own. It was amazing to me that you could turn a beautiful piece of fabric, one that you yourself chose, into a 3D item that fit!
Now my interest in sewing is derived from what makes me happy. Sewing is the perfect job for a trained architect who has a heavy interest in materials, quality construction, and who thinks in drawing but whose heart is filled by working with her hands.
